Chris King has been making their own stainless-steel sealed bearings for 34 years and never has there been a component that benefited more from their quality than the external bottom bracket. The Chris King mountain bottom bracket is specifically designed for crank systems with outboard bearing cups and is available in the full assortment of colors that only Chris King can do.
It all starts with the bearings. They make their own bearings in-house and our process allows them to place more balls per bearing, 24 to be exact, than their competitors. More rolling elements per bearing translates to a stronger overall bearing system. A bottom-bracket specific upgrade to our legendary sealing system allows the bearings to be purged and re-greased using the precision made Chris King injector tool. This combination of strength and serviceability gives them the confidence to offer an industry-leading 5-year warranty on their bottom brackets.
COMPATIBILITY
SRAM-compatible 24mm stepped axle configuration. The stepped axle Chris King bottom bracket makes use of a fit kit to match the crank axle to standard cups and bearings but without use of chainline spacers. 125 grams. Fits most mountain cranks from Sram, TruVativ and Bontrager models using the GXP style bottom bracket.

Other than the cost, this thing is great. The bearings feel like butter and it installed relatively easy. I hope it lasts to justify the price.

Nice quality, smooth rolling bearings, and definitely good looking. Fit perfectly with detailed instructions for my application. The optional grease tool works great too and makes it extremely easy to push out the old grease and replace with new.
