judog44This shock is easy to maintain and very suitable replacement for 2009-10 Fox RP23. The older 2008 RP23 did more of a lock out which the newer ones do not, so in that respect this shock is very similar as it compresses the shock 2/3 with the push of a button (cane creek does not suggest this is a lock out). The compression will only reduce pedal bob if you have a high enough pressure, again this is similar to how the 2009-10 RP23 works. It was easy to install this shock as it uses the same size bolts and bushings as Fox and Rock Shox. You can not get a better shock between the $200-300 price point. There are better shocks out there just depends on what you want to spend, these are the easiest to rebuild yourself so that just sweetens the deal.

swimmernate07Ridden for a season on a Santa Cruz blur. I purchased for its easy maintainability, price, and positive reviews. It is very simple and quick to maintain, with very helpful customer service at Cane Creek. Several issues - purchased bushings from cane creek and took 2 tries to get the right sizes from them, also the shock lost air and completely failed by the 4th ride. Returned to Cane creek under warranty for a complete rebuild for free. Seems to be working fine now. Lockout feature does not seem very effective and there is noticeable pedal bob.

A GuestI have run this shock for around 60 miles. I like how light the shock is. I like the features for compression and rebound. I run this on an old Klein mantra and I get a little peddle bob when on flats in high gears but not bothersome. Once I got it dialed into my riding style and weight it is excellent. Soaks up the big hits as well as the small stuff. Very nice shock.
