turtleinkWhat more is there to tell about these brakes? Every review you read sums up the quality, precision, and power almost perfectly.. Excellent product!
The only thing that I would suggest if you are upgrading to the BB7's is to go with a 185/160 combination for the rotors.. And dont forget to pair these with a complimenting set of brake levers such as the Avid speed dials or the Cane Creek Cirect Curves..

seatown7I already had BB7s on my CX bike and bought these for a Surly Troll build. The Troll will be a "bike packing" off road touring rig that carries my big ass and probably 30-40 ponds of gear. The discs are pretty easy to install and they stop like crazy!
I've had people who ride with me complain that they can't stop or slow as fast as I can and they feel like they're going to run into me from behind.
The only small gripe I have is that the front brakes ALWAYS seem to howl...unless you swap the pads for the organic compound set up...which is super easy and cost about $20.

firefox90Bought these because I had to upgrade to disc brakes for a new wheel set. Came from a fresh set of Koolstop pads that worked great.
The modulation and consistency (not having to worry about debris on the rim) on these are much better. They make taking the wheels on and off much easier as well. I would say the power is as good or better than the fresh Koolstop pads. I would definitely say they are a worthwhile investment.
The only problem I had was mounting the rear caliper. In the directions, they show the mounting bracket with the label (160R->) on the outside of the bike. If you mount it like this, the caliper rubs on the outer edge of the disc. You must flip the bracket so the label faces towards the wheel.

binausicI love these brakes. I have these on my snow bike and would reccomend these brakes to anyone. I also use Juicy 7's on my niner set up and have to say the the BB7's are a nice, no hassle, easy to set up mechanical disc brake.

A GuestGreat brakes! I have had bleeding hydraulics 50 miles from civilization, never again with my BB7s! Work as well as any hydraulic I have used but a lot less maintenance and just a little weight penalty.

A GuestThis set up. is awsome. I put them on a S.S I built up. and...Oh yeah . Once they brake in. For road riding they are the BOMB !

han...@ve...m.netTo be fair, I have never owned a bike with hydraulic brakes; however, I have ridden a few and can say that there's nothing substantially better about the feel or performance of the hydraulics I have tried over the BB7. Brake feel is fantastic (when you use good housing!) and they stop with urgency. I use these on my XC hardtail and full-suspension bikes for weekend riding and amateur XC racing and see no reason to use anything else.
