The Alex Adventure 2 rim replaces the popular Alex Adventurer rim, that was popular with budget-minded tourist, commuters, and casual mountain bikers. Alex Adventure 2 rims will work with road, cross and mountain tires from 28-50mm wide.
The updated Alex Adventure 2 rim now features Alex's TRS tubeless ready bead design for tubeless compatibility when used with tubeless tape and valves.
For added strength, the Alex Adventure 2 rims feature stainless eyelets and a rounded spoke nipple bed. Alex uses their 3D drilling on the Adventure 2 to provide an improved spoke angle for larger diameter e-bike and internally geared hubs, which places less stress on the spokes, resulting in stronger wheels.

No, but if you're concerned about durability it might be better to build a wheel with 36 or 40 spokes.

I’m a big fan of Alex Adventure rims. I have just built up a new set of wheels using the Adventure 2 rims, and then found clincher tires practically impossible tires to mount, as the valley in the rim center is too shallow to allow the tire bead to clear the rim edge. Success only happened after heating the tire bead and using steel levers. Also pinched two tubes. On-road repairs would be impossible. Bring back the old rim! Not sure what to do with these.
