Robert Axle Project makes aftermarket thru axles to fit the BOB but not quick releases.
If you have a fat bike like the Salsa Mukluk with Alternator drop-outs, Salsa does make a thru-axle kit for the frame that could be used with the Robert Axle Project axles.

Works well. easy to install, I didn't even have to take the wheel off. It is very adaptable for most bikes. I tried to use the Yak 16 trailer with out the Quick Release Skewer but it was hard to pull and felt very unstable.
