all about the

Stans No Tubes Tire Sealant 32oz

Stan's Tire Sealant stops slow leaks and punctures up to 1/4 inch if used properly. Stan's consists of a special blended Latex Emulsion suspended in Ammonia.  The mixture has spongy burrs that are there waiting to wedge themselves into any larger puncture that catches you off guard on the trail. There is always some amazement from onlookers when you hit something and a puff of white smoke comes out of your tire for a few rotations then that's it... voila, usually you just keep on riding.

This is a refill for the kit that converts standard (non tubeless) tires to tubeless and also works with any tubeless tire or tubular tires. The Solution can be used year round, even in sub freezing temperatures. It will not throw the tire out of balance like other sealants are known to do.

1 quart (32oz) bottle will seal 16 bicycle tires.

Straight from Stan:

Stan's Tubeless System offers two sealing points on the tire versus other tubeless systems which use only the bead lock as their sealing point. First the bead lock is sealed, as well as the lower portion of the tire and rim to create a second inner seal. This unique design allows you to break the bead lock seal without losing air pressure. Secondly, the inner seal flexes inwards with the tire to maintain air pressure.

The patented Rim Strip makes installation simple. It can be removed as easily as a tube and can be used over and over again. Time involved can be less than 10 minutes per wheel. With this system you can lose rotating weight in an area that previously was not possible.

Your lightweight wheel set can be converted to a tubeless set up with only 56 grams of added weight per wheel. Saving hundreds of dollars over purchasing new wheels.

No need to worry about the dreaded pinch flat.

Possibly never having another puncture flat again because of the self-sealing qualities of Stan's Tire and Rim Sealant.

You will be able to keep using your lightweight tires and not be limited to buying expensive and much heavier tubeless specific tires.

The New Molded Rim Strip features a new Presta valve stem with a removable core allowing you to add sealant without removing the tire. This removable valve core will make inflating easier by increasing the air flow into the tire. Removing the valve core also allows for cleaning or easy replacement.

Stan's Tire & Rim Sealant can also be used to seal punctures and slow leaks that occur in most tubeless tires. As a result, your tubeless tires will hold air for longer periods of time.

Other Information

If you are interested in rotating weight (and who's not!!) you can lose anywhere from 100 grams up to 400 grams of rotating weight per wheel set. This System does not require any modifications to your existing wheel set. If you are not satisfied with it, all you do is remove the rim strip, and put your old heavy tube back in and go riding.

The System requires very little mechanical ability to install.

It does not use any glue and you can change a flat the same way you do now.

Lower Air Pressure, Better Traction and Ride

Stan's Tire and Rim Sealant will usually last from three weeks up to three months.  At that time you simply add more. (Time will vary due to different tire characteristics). It doesn't leave much mess in your tire.Stan's Tire and Rim Sealant can also be used in tubeless tires for puncture resistance and STOPS leaks.Once you seal your tires they will not lose air pressure.

What happens if I get a flat on the Trail? --    Do like most riders, and bum a tube from one of your pals because they always carry one. Stan's Tire & Rim Sealant does not use any glue, so you can change a flat the same way you do now.

Stans No Tubes Tire Sealant 32oz

asked by: edreyes
how much Stans for a 2.2 29er tire?
answered by: mlewis
We recommend using 2 scoops for that size tire.
asked by: A Visitor
How long will a open bottle stay good? Is their an expiration date?
answered by: mlewis
Stan's doesn't have any expiration dates on their bottles. It is best stored in a cool location, with the cap tightly closed, and should last easily a couple years or more.
asked by: A Visitor
how much stans for a 700 x 23c road tire
answered by: rmartell
We recommend 1/2 scoop from the cup provided with the Stan's kit. Thank you.
asked by: A Visitor
Is it simular to the slime used for seal tires?
answered by: anonymous
This is much better than Slime. I have had one flat with tubeless tires and Stans. The hole was about 1/8th inch long and I am not sure how long it was leaking before it was too flat to ride. I pumped the tire up and it heald air to about 80 lbs but the cut was so long that it couldn't hold air for more than 5 minutes. I am amazed with Stans. GREAT STUFF.
answered by: awilson
The green stuff for tubes? Nope.

This is used to seal up tubeless and tubular tires.

Review of the Stans No Tubes Tire Sealant 32oz:
I don't even know how to describe the greatness of Stan's Sealant. I used to get a flat tire just about every other ride... up until about a year ago when I started using Stan's. I have not had a flat tire since. As long as you're using a UST Wheel, Setting up tubeless is very simple and effective.

Summed up: "Virtually Eliminates Flats"

Review of the Stans No Tubes Tire Sealant 32oz:
In Arizona, punctures are inevitable but flats are not, thanks to Stan's sealant. When that inevitable puncture announces itself with a "wooshing" noise and a fine spray of sealant, just keep rolling. Not only is it convenient but the motion ensures a flow of sealant to the hole. Most of the time, the leaking stops quickly and you can ride on without concern, saving the spare tube and CO2 for a real emergency or a more convenient time.

Summed up: Don't leave home without it.

Used with NoTubes "Crest" rims, rim tape, and valve stem. Worked exactly like it's supposed to. This was the first time I've seated up tires in a tubeless set up and it was very easy. I would recommend using a compresspor to make the installation easier.

Summed up: Watch the video on the Notubes.com website for installation instructions. Listen to what he says!

This is the bomb... I'm a fairly heavy rider at 230lbs, riding rock gardens, and some serious mountain terrain. If you follow the instructions the sealant works exactly as described... no flats. TreeFort was great too...fast and easy.

Review of the Stans No Tubes Tire Sealant 32oz:
This product is a great new innovative tool to reduce weight and rolling mass as well as giving riders the ability to ride with lower air pressure than was previously possible with tires with tubes. Tubes get pinched at low pressures which causes leaking. Lower pressure equals better grip in the soft stuff which makes this an invaluable tool.

Summed up: Must have! Great product! Serious about riding? Buy it. Try it. You won't be sorry.

Review of the Stans No Tubes Tire Sealant 32oz:
I use stans both with tubes and without. I have also "juiced it up" using craft glitter which is supposed to help plug larger holes but in my experience does the opposite. With glitter then stans never plugged larger holes it just sprayed and sprayed. When I would pop the tire to investigate all the glitter would be in a thick, immobile sludge trapping with it all of the "fiber" stan puts in. The fiber is used to start the "scab" until the latex can dry. I've stopped using glitter and stans is back to working perfectly.
It's possible this was caused by me using too much glitter but experimenting with the amount didn't help.

Summed up: Works great as is, just don't use glitter.

What else is there more to say that others haven't covered. Most important part of using stans for tubless is prepping your wheel before you add stans. If your wheel is sealed with the yellow tape correctly, and your using a tubless friendly tires, Stan's works great.

Summed up: Tried and prove reliability.

Stan's is great. Works for me on all sorts of tires from lightweight racing rubber to beefy UST tires and everything in between. The trick with going tubeless is the proper installation of the stan's tape and using a soap/water mixture to get the tire seated properly. checkout notubes.com for more info. And with tree fort's price match, the price is always right.

Review of the Stans No Tubes Tire Sealant 32oz:
Read all the above reviews. The soap/water mixture should really be suds. if you use too much soap the bead won't seat all that well, too slippery. The idea is just enough slip to get the bead to snap in to the rim tightly.

From experience, if you're going to let the bike sit for a while, east coast/mountain areas where it snows etc., take any liquid sealant out before you put it away for the season. The stuff will dry out and turn into a big ball of rubber and do really odd things to the balance the first time you go downhill quickly.

And buy one of the injectors so you can add an ounce or so of sealant every few months. If it all drys out, and you hit a thorn or cactus needle it might not seal up. Might not be necessary on a soft compound 26" tire but with a Nevegal 29er on a fully I find I have to.

Summed up: Once you get the stuff set up and get a little familiar with the routine you will NEVER go back to tubed tires

Review of the Stans No Tubes Tire Sealant 32oz:
Used Slim before & never again will I use anything else but Stan's NoTube Sealant. It only took me 15 minutes to convert a non-tubeless DT rims and Kenda Nevegal UST tires to tubeless. The tire sealed easily using an air compressor but floor pumps seem to work sometimes. I didn't have to use soapy water on the beads for the initial seal as well.

Stan's No Tube sealant is less weight and is better at sealing than the thicker slimes, however, you won't feel it slopping around while riding. The sealant do dry up over 6 months, especially in hot weather, butusing the injection kit makes it easy to add an ounce or 2 when needed. The biggest deal here though is that you can kiss goodbye to snakebite flats and thorn punctures, it will seal before you even know about them, even on larger slash flats.

It is messy when you need to use an emergency tube while on the trail when you do get a larger slash and cuts beyond sealing.

Summed up: One thing I love about tubeless is the hollow sound of your tires as you pump your pedals up the hill.

Buy it!

There is so much additional information for so many different applications for this thing that it was seriously confusing. All I know is that my tubeless rims matched with my tubeless tires with 2 scoops of stans with the proper shake and bake method. There was no drama or a repeat of some crazy horror story. I'll take these over tubes any day.
