questions about the

Topeak Explorer Rack

asked by: A Visitor
does it come with clamps so it will mount to a bike that does not have seat stay braze ons
answered by: mlewis
No, this comes with just the hardware shown in the photos.

Will an MTX trunk bag and Ortlieb classic rollers fit this rack at the same time?
answered by: t.young
I don't think that could work. We have the rack and bag here in the store, and when I put the bag on the rack I couldn't think of a way for additional bags to fit on due to the long connection system for the rack/bag.

Review of the Topeak Explorer Rack:
Lightweight, sturdy, easy to install. My road bike does not have seat stay braze-ons, but the rack went on easily enough with some rubber-coated clamps from the hardware store. Attaches securely, no rattling.

Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.

Review of the Topeak Explorer Rack:
Love it. It is easily removable and had a nice carrying handle. hard to park in a bike rack because it's so big and awkward with the basket on, but I still love it. I bought the expandable kryptonite R4 light to lock it on my bike.

Summed up: Highly recommend it. Great price from Tree Fort Bikes.

Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.

Review of the Topeak Explorer Rack:
Seems pretty lightweight. Straightforward mounting, built-in support for fold out side panniers on my Topeak Trunk Bag. Secured to the bike tightly. Unlike others I've heard, it doesn't rattle on the rails-to-trails rides when loaded down or even without a bag installed. I planned to take it on and off as necessary, and I probably could do it quickly with 4 screws securing it, but there's no need--I never notice it's there until I need it.
Paired with a Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DXP, I can do my grocery shopping for the week with this one rack.

Summed up: Works perfectly for Trek 7.3 FX

Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.
