Pasela Tourguard Tire - 26 x1.25 Steel Bead

I do all of my riding on Texas farm roads which are generally clean and in good condition. The tires I'd _really_ like to ride are Hutchinson 26 x 1 which are very light and fast. Unfortunately with those it was pretty much a coin flip as to whether I would get a flat on any particular day. These Panaracer Pasela Tourgard 26 x 1.25 are a bit heavier and slower, but very, very reliable. I can't remember the last time I had a flat from a puncture. One thing though - in my experience these tires tend to fail with the rubber tread de-laminating from the body of the tire after a couple of years. This may have something to do with the extreme road temperatures here in the summer? Still I'd rather pay $30 every two or three years for flat-free rides than suffer the alternative. So I highly recommend these tires, and they would be my first choice for a road tour. Just be sure to check them from time to time once they git a bit used to make sure they are not falling apart.
