This light is expensive but it is really solid. I've had it for about 6 months. It is BRIGHT, compared to other rear lights it floods the area behind you with red light. I haven't had it run out of batteries while biking yet. The mounting clip looks a little over-engineered at first glance but it is actually really well designed and strong. It has an aluminum housing and it has a little heft. Very cool.
It doesn't flash on and off, rather it has a fading on/off light which isn't as harsh. There are other flash patterns too although I haven't really used them yet. I imagine the secondary yellow light flashing mode would be good for group rides at night.
