BluPenguinThe most noticable feature about this tire is it's fast. There is a very big difference in rolling resistance between this tire and some similar hardpack tires. I currently run this tire in the front, with the 2.1 in the rear, and I have taken them through every imaginable terrain.
As it was designed for, this tire scores high in traction and speed on hardpack and pavement, and even fairs pretty well on ice compared to non-studded tires. At reasonably low PSI, this tire also offers traction through rock gardens beyond expectations, only slipping where aggressive-treaded tires would too. Performance through wet conditions vary, with outstanding performance on packed dirt, pavement and equivelent.
Through loose gravel, sand and mud, this tire has near to none traction, often resulting in a game of worm while pushing through these terrain, but since this tire wasn't meant for those, no negative points taken.
Thanks to the DTC's soft cornering edge, handling through most terrains are more direct, giving you the confidence to take corners more aggressively, while the harder center compound lets you accelerate out of the corners and also reduces tread wear.
As for the tire itself, the very thin sidewalls could almost appear flimsy, but I have never had a problem with anything related to a sidewall tear, even when grinding it against sharp rocks while picking through rock gardens.
