The world's lightest XC riser bar is now even stronger thanks to Easton''s CNT Enhanced Resin System. The Easton Monkeylite SL is a superlight riser bar with toughness and velvet-smooth feel that only carbon can deliver. Carbon nanotubes are added to strengthen and toughen the resin matrix. The result is the most advanced carbon bar on the planet.

asked by: smulder Is it better to run a carbon bar with an aluminum or carbon stem?
A.
anwered by: smulder The material of stem is not so important. What is more important is that the stem is free from burs and perfectly round. This eliminates pressure stressing the carbon of the bar which could cause cracking and premature failure.

In an attempt to shed a few grams from my Giant Trance, I purchased a set of Easton Monkeylite SL Carbon Handlebars. The finish on the bars look very nice and so far are proving to be very strong, even for a clyde like myself. I would say I ride a mix of XC/AM trails with up to a 2' drop with lots of roots and rocks, and the handlebars are holding up great!
I got a great price from Tree Fort on these excellent bars. I have the 31.8 version, and they were 155 grams on my scale... a full 60 grams lighter than the alloy FSA's they replaced and are very close in stiffness too. The 25" width works well for me too as I prefer slightly narrower than average bars.
