RWS MTB Steel

This unit replaced a steel Salsa Flip-Off in an effort to match the DT Swiss RWS front 9mm through-bolt that I ordered at the same time. The ratcheting action allows for consistent torque on the frame/hub and the fact that the handle can be re-positioned anywhere you want it after the wheel is torqued is a bonus. Steel QRs generally aren't that light, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the RWS unit came in at 2g lighter than the Salsa Flip-Off it replaced. Every gram counts for those looking to save a bit of weight. Just a note: The DT Swiss decal on the one I ordered is red and not black. Thankfully, it matches the front 9mm RWS through bolt ordered at the same time. My digital scale shows the RWS steel rear unit at 52g (140mm version).
