The outer lever is made of 6061 aluminum. The axle it self, the parts that clamp to the frame or fork, springs and inner lever are made of chromoly steel.

Bought the blue version to add to all the other blue bling. I've used them about two years, but replaced them with some blue Halo Hex Bolt skewers. The edges of the levers are sharp and hurt you fingers when cranking down on them. The split levers are really more of a pain in the butt than helpful. The centering springs either get stuck after being compressed or stick to the nut, so when you turn the nut, it rotates back after releasing it. Also had a hard time keeping the front rotor centered in the caliper when closing the lever. All in all, these are not any easier to use than any other skewer, but they look really nice! Thought about going over to Salsa, but after seeing the Halo's, decided to abandon QR all together.
