These brakes are long pull brakes and almost all road brake levers are short pull. Unless you have long pull road brake levers, these brakes will not work on a cross bike.

I refuse to give up my old '95 Fisher Paragon (bomb proof) so I decided to upgrade again. These cane creek direct pull brakes have massive stopping power over the LX linear pull models I had on there before. I put on the cane creek levers too, just to be sure. I did have to bend one of the springs a bit so that it would center better and still allow a bit of adjustment. I found the setup a bit easier than others who have posted. Don't count on your old brake cable housing to fit; you'll need to replace it for sure.
