On the contrary, precisely because these provide the link between one component and another, the cables must be designed to interface solely with the components they connect.
Campagnolo cables employ stainless steel inner wires and friction-resistant housings that are lubricated with special grease. Laboratory testing has shown that this solution provides unparalleled smoothness.
Campagnolo cables maintain a constant friction value of 20-22 N at the most critical point, i.e. when the cable is actuated. A truly incredible value when one considers that some systems produced by other manufacturers exhibit values in the range of 130-140 N.
Perfection is only achieved by paying attention to detail of which the Campagnolo cables are but one.

If you run Campy, keep it Campy. I had the last cable set for 6 years and have 80,000 miles on them before needing replacing. It just works better.

these are my go to cable sets and they work with everything. i've got them on a sram red bike as well as a couple campy bikes. they work well and aren't as difficult to cut as the yokozuna housings.
and oddly enough, these are probably the one campy item that's not priced thru the roof so there's no reason not to use em. you can have any color you want as long as it's black...
