The Great Divide Race is one of the most punishing ultra-endurance events in cycling, if not all sport. The completely self-supported ride traverses the 2,745 mile Great Divide Trail from Canada all the way south to the Mexican border. The Teravail Sparwood was developed for this event. The Sparwood was used as a prototype by ultra-endurance legend Jay Petervary. Petervary road the Sparwood to a second place finish behind American Josh Kato. Teravail recognizes not everyone will line up at the Great Depart for the Divide but understands the information learned from using their tires in this event can yield tremendous benefits for riders on local Sub-24's, backpacking trips, mixed terrain commutes, or fast trail riding. The purpose built design of the Sparwood offers excellent traction, low rolling resistance and wide volume for comfort.

Tree Fort Bike''s recommends that you setup your tires using only Stan''s No Tubes sealants
About the Durable Casing:
Our durable casing features a layer of woven aramid fiber reinforcement between the outer rubber and the inner casing. This material is twice as strong than Kevlar and lighter in weight than any competitive product. Located under the sidewall of the tire, it provides moderate protection against abrasion and sharp trail debris that may result in a flat tire.
Testimonial:
"The Teravail Sparwood tires were an excellent choice for this year''s Tour Divide. The wear of the tire is amazing. I used the same pair from start to finish, without a single flat! There were no signs of sidewall abuse either. The volume of the tire yields great comfort, especially on a loaded bike, and the performance on the road surfaces was fast on the straights, predictable, and trustworthy in the corners. It''s a solid choice for anyone thinking of the Tour Divide."
