Tree Fort - As a first time Tree Fort customer I had things to be sorted out with my order, and I found Tree Fort to be very accommodating, responsive, and professional. I will buy from them again (and already have).
RFLKT - The RFLKT itself is a great device, the backlight does indeed work in the dark, and it comes with plenty of things to help you mount it. The buttons are very nice and give good feedback as to when they click or not. It works brilliantly with my iPhone 5, and the Wahoo App, and things really look the way they look in the App. I built my pages ahead of time, and everything works like a champ.
Wahoo Fitness Apps - The apps (I downloaded the 'Fitness' and 'Utility' apps) work great, and there were some initial updates, but nothing since. You need to pay attention to which menu you are in for initially pairing and setting up the link between the phone and the RFLKT, but since pairing them I have a big happy family. The remote display of the Battery level on my phone on the RFLKT itself was great, bike with confidence! In a ONE HOUR RIDE, my phone drained 0%; it stayed at 90% for an entire hour! I had the display off, but I did mount it next to the RFLKT using the belt-clip part of my Otter Box zip-tied to my handle bars so I peeked at the App running different screens at the same time on the app itself. I love the customization of it, and I love the fact that there are hundreds parameters you can choose from to display in different sizes in whatever configuration you want.
I uploaded our jaunt to Strava, and that is a wicked amazing thing. I can email myself and friends from the App itself, and upload straight to Strava from my phone, or email the files and stash them on my computer and upload from there.
The only limitation I encountered actually has nothing to do with the App or RFLKT, and is due to the iPhone having to sample over time to get speed and direction. For me this is tolerable, but I can see someone needing their speed information, but that type of person probably also wants cadence so I would say get the Blue SC Speed/Cadence sensor too at the same time. Why wait? I love the RFLKT, and am probably going to get the Speed/Cadence sensor soon because I can, and because I would get more real-time information. I have to say knowing your direction of travel is handy, and the elevation could be more accurate, but that is a GPS issue, not even an iPhone issue. And the GPS features with Strava are nice, Strava instantly figured out the trail we had ridden on, I sure as heck did not tell it where our ride was.
All together the whole setup is fierce! I can see someone using the fitness App by itself for running and being content, or having climbed and done wilderness things it would be handy mountaineering also (as long as you can charge your phone). I am definitely looking forward to getting more Wahoo products, where is that link to the Blue SC...
