The Avid Elixir 5 brake is the poster child of trickle-down brake economics. New this year are even more features handed down from its more expensive siblings, while still remaining delightfully affordable.

Bringing in features like TaperBore technology for modulation enhancement, a powerful 2-piece forged caliper, and tool-free reach adjustment on the levers, the Avid Elixir 5 brings consistant, reliable performance in a simple, easy to use package. These brakes also include Avid's HS1 heat shedding brake rotor for fade resistance braking, and the 74mm post mount caliper includes a 51mm IS adapter to fit any frame and fork.
