2014 Vis 180 Rechargeable Taillight
The Light & Motion Vis 180 is not a cheap throw away light, but it could end up being one of the least expensive and brightest taillights you can buy if you add the battery factor to those other $25 lights you may have purchased in the past. The built in Li-On battery, you know like the one in your iPhone is good for around a 1,000 charges which is a whole pile of AA's. If the light uses the N-cell batteries they run about $2 each or about $2000 over the life of the light. So really which light is inexpensive?
The Vis 180 is not only green by using a rechargeable battery, but provides performance not found in the smaller throw away taillights. Most of the 1w blinky style lights put out 5-7 lumens of light and the Vis 180 puts out 50 lumens or about 10x that amount. It also uses an exclusive side amber lights to not only give you visibility from the rear but also from the side. Which is helpful when riding in a group at night.
