Component specific tools will almost undoubtedly serve their purpose and fulfill that needs to a high degree of success. The downside to these tools is the singular fact that you have a lot of different components that require different tools. But at the end of the day, the Disc Brake Multi-Tool from Jagwire, is one that modern cyclist should have in an age of multi-tools and multi-purpose design.
It's a simple simple design will let you tackle nearly all the task of working with disc brake rotors short of installing them. It features a rotor truing tool for making subtle adjustments to a rotor that has either been bent or is slightly off from the manufacture.
If your travel a bit to the trail head, we''ve all had our brake levers inadvertently squeezed and have had to rummage for a screwdriver to spread the pistons so we could ride. This makes it a great tool to stow away in your travel kit or glove box.
In addition it also features a bleed block and pad spacer for general maintenance and upkeep of your brakes.
If you run disc brakes, you''ve probably longed for a tool just like this at least once.
Pad spacer
Bleed block
Rotor truer
Piston press

It may seem expensive, but in reality works Well. I like the multi function part. I own lots of tools and I hate having a single tool that only does ONE THING. So having a tool that does 3-4 fucntions makes great sense. Since it sits in my tool box and doesn't go with me, the size is not a concern. The tool performed well and I have used it on several bikes since buying it. My friends love that I have all the tools to fix their rides without having to shell out the LBS per hour rates.
