Q.

Will these cranks work on an 80's standard 6 spd freewheel, friction shifting?
A.
anwered by: canteau
The chainrings on the Rival crank are designed for the thinner chains a 10-speed rear cassette uses.
A crank that is designed for 8-speed cassettes will work with the 6-speed chain as they are both 3/32"

Q.

Will these SRAM Rival cranks work with a 9-speed Shimano Sora drivetrain?
A.
anwered by: canteau
SRAM Rival cranks are designed for 10-speed drivetrains but should work with newer Sora groups.
The 10-speed chainrings are slightly narrower than 9-speed chainrings so you may get a little more noise.

A GuestI have been a Shimano girl for a long time and upgraded my sram crank from apex to rival with this purchase. I highly recommend this upgrade. It feels way better shifting and doesn't hurt the pocket book. Shipped at a reasonable time and I got a good deal
