Salsa 2012 El Mariachi 2 Complete Bike

The Salsa El Mariachi, kicking butt since 1997.

From epic 100-mile rides to fast xc racing, the Salsa El Mariachi is the mountain bike for the job. Steel tubing provides you with one of the most comfortable ride qualities available.

The El Mariachi uses Salsa's Workhorse geometry for stable and balanced handling, for all day reliable performance. The tapered headtube provides you with the strength and stiffness that you're looking for in the front end of your bike.

The steel El Mariachi uses alternator dropouts for singlespeed or geared applications.

Other cool things:
  • Compatible with double and triple cranksets (or single for men)
  • Two bottle cages
  • Fits up to 2.4" 29er tires
  • Semi-Integrated headset
So, what happens when you buy an El Marachi from Tree Fort?

Well, when we receive your El Mariachi from Salsa it takes a trip over to our service department and gets fully assembled and tuned. We take it for a spin around the block, and off a few sweet jumps. If it survives, then we carefully re-box and send it your way! When you get it, there will be minimal assembly required, if you run into any bumps give us a call and we'll be stoked to help! 734.484.9999

Can you swap fork for niner carbon and make it an SS
answered by: mlewis
The El Mariachi has alternator dropouts so it can be run geared or single speed, you can certainly swap the fork, but you'll need a fork with a straight 1 1/8" steer tube, not a tapered steer tube.

What is the difference between the mariachi 2 and 3?
answered by: rmartell
The two has a mix of SRAM X7 and X9 with a thru-axle hub Rock Shox REBA front fork and Avid Elixr 5 brakes. It also has a higher grade cockpit than the 3 with lighter stem, bars, and seatpost.

The Three has a mix of SRAM X5 components and a Rock Shox Recon with a standard quick-release axle.

Review of the Salsa 2012 El Mariachi 2 Complete Bike:
I love this bike. I bought a medium 2012 from TreeFort and it was a great experience, let alone the awesomeness of this bike. This is definitely an upgrade from my older Trek AL Hardtail 26er and I get frequent compliments from other riders... bonus!!!

The Elixir 5s are somewhat noisy initially, but the more I ride, the better they sound and they STOP! Love the steel, love the saddle, the fork, the grips are ok.

Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.
