seatonbWow. These are great. Strong and light. These are a lot like the indestructable Cateye BC-100 (which I've used since 1996). But the Velocity cages are sleeker, lighter weight and half the cost. I've used them for 11 months on both road and mtb -- no problems.

A GuestA design so bad, and a grip so tenacious it should be patented: "Two Hand Removal." Yep, this thing will work great for your 400 mph Bonneville speed racer, but should you want to remove your bottle with one hand while riding your utterly pedestrian bicycle, good luck.
I just got this from Tree Fort and spent 45 minutes with my Dremel, a knife, and sandpaper trying to enlarge the i.d. of this cage, as my bottle fit unacceptably tight in it. I have an Evo Speedracer II and Zefal composite cages on other bikes, and have used countless cheapo aluminum cages, and none have ever given me the problems this Velocity cage has. At this point, my bottle will go in smoothly, but removal is STILL a two-handed affair. Not sure how the other reviewers haven't been affected by this.
As you insert the bottle the front strap is pushed down, essentially enlarging the i.d. All good. As you remove the bottle the front strap is pulled up, essentially reducing the i.d. and truly making this a constrictor cage.

doug.claytonInexpensive cage that holds tight. Perfect for gravel grinders or any rides on rough terrain. Wish I had for B-R race in March.
Just buy it.
