The new XTR hydraulic disc brakes got a serious revamp along with the rest of the groupset, and it suits them! Shimano has gone over to an integrated shifter and lever system where they actually attach to one another, making them feel solid one your bars. They also cut about 40g off their previous brake system while managing to provide 10% greater stopping power over the previous generation. Plus, with reach adjust and an inline barrel reservoir for brake tinkering, you'll be sure to always be stopping when you want to, and flying when you can.
