all about the

Panaracer RiBMo 700c Kevlar Black Tire

The RibMo tire from Panaracer is a great way to save weight and make your bike more efficient.  These tires are fast and slick, and the light weight means less rotating weight on the outside of the wheel, which means your bike moves faster with less effort.

Not only are they fast, but durable and puncture resistant as well.  Panaracer has designed their ProTex Shield technology which makes the tires extra resistant to pinch flats, punctures, and sidewall blowouts.

Features:

  • ProTex Shield for puncture resistance
  • Panaracer's All Contact tread shape for increased rolling efficiency, even tire footprint, and even transition from the center to side
  • Panaracer's Mile Cruncher rubber compound for increased durability
  • Weighs in around 330g
  • Max PSI of 115
  • Folding bead
  • Size 700 x 25, 28, and 32

Review of the Panaracer RiBMo 700c Kevlar Black Tire:
Been running the same 32c Ribmo on my polo bike since about October of last year, initially on the front, then in back for the last 7 months or so.

It's held up really well to heavy stop-start play, as well as the (somewhat more than) occassional sidewall rub when my wheel gets out of true in my frame's tight-clearance chainstays.

Grip is also good-- it feels virtually the same cornering on smooth hardcourt versus sketchy, gravelly streets. I can probably count on one hand the amount of times I've lost adhesion during a polo game in the last year, and for that I'm going to credit the tire rather than whatever minimal bike handling skill I might possess.

It's finally worn through to the weave on a couple portions of tread, and the sidewall's looking a little rugged. After a year of polo and commuting, though, I'm not complaining.

I gotta say, I think the compound in Gatorskins is slightly more durable, but Ribmos do well enough, and their weight-to-durability value, price point, and ease of installation make this tire an easy choice. Ordering a new one as we speak.

Summed up: Grippy, durable, and surprisingly light tire for a variety of pavement types and city uses, including polo and commuting.

Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.

Review of the Panaracer RiBMo 700c Kevlar Black Tire:
There are now several kevlar lined tires on the market touting their longevity.
After trying a few others, I finally found one I can stick with (till they design a new one!)
The 700c size on a spindly road bike really encompasses the ability to hitup road, ruff, and dirt while remaing light with low resistance.
The resistance is probably because the tread pattern is simple, and low profile. While still doing a great job of throwing water away from the tread in wet weather.
The center treads thickness and durabiltiy continues well onto the sidewall, which is also extreamly tough.
My last set cought a couple 5 inch long gashes from a bottle bottem that hucked into the fork/brake area (3/4 thru life of the tire). How did this not tear through the weave?! What the heck did they put in these sidewalls?! They just kept on trucking.
That pair saw 6500 miles with no flats.
They wore out before the tubes!
If you get a pair, I highly recommend installing them with a pair of 700c tire liners. Match this up with a tube size slightly smaller than tire rating, makeing room for the liner (28c tire=23c tube) and you'll have a pair of wheels that will probably never need to be delt with other then air, or when theres nomore rubber.
Serious about the tire liners too. Worth the $10 investment.
More tire companys should raise the bar to this kind of sidewall design. It really makes for a long lasting, and hard cornering tire.

Summed up: Best deal for a bomb proof 700c tire: On or off-road (hardpack).

Review of the Panaracer RiBMo 700c Kevlar Black Tire:
Best tire ever. Blows Gatorskins outta the water (so to speak). Great in the wet, low rolling resistance, clean looks, this is my second set, and I will keep buying them.

Review of the Panaracer RiBMo 700c Kevlar Black Tire:
I was looking for a durable tire for commuting on my Langster, but was very limited with the geometry of my bike, and was really anxious to receive these when I found they had 700c x 25 tires. The things feel super grippy and seem very tough. Definitely a good value.
