EggBeater 2 Pedals Stainless with Black Springs
The Crank Brothers Egg Beaters redefined simplicity in the clipless pedel category years ago and have since improved upon their basic take on the category. The Eggbeater 2's offer a cast stainless body for durability and feel and up the ante from last year with completely redone internals. jbevansI'm still not completely accustomed to clipping in because it's slightly different than the SPD system I've been using for years (no issue, just a matter of getting accustomed to something different), but the stability and increased power due to a better connection to the pedal on the upswing is a big improvement. I'm very happy with the product.

LuckyCharm4x4I love the simplicity of eggbeaters. 4 sides of engagement make it easy to clip in.
The only drawback is: due to design, if you hit the bottom on a rock/object, your feet can sometime pop out. It happens VERY rarely though!
They do allow some float which I prefer so I can move my feet around and do small stretches while riding, without unclipping. This prevents my legs from getting sore and my feet from falling asleep.

A GuestAfter using Shimano mtb for a couple of years,
the beaters are a delight. Much easier to enter
and dismount, and as a bonus, much lighter.
