questions about the

Dimension Road Double Groove Drop Bar 25.4

asked by: A Visitor
Wil any type of mountain shifters work on these?
answered by: t.young
I can't think of any way to make them work.
asked by: A Visitor
What would be the inside witdth for the 40 and 42 models (center of brake levers)
answered by: t.young
There is hardly any flare on these bars, it would be within millimeters.
asked by: Estuche
What is the weight for the 44cm version?
answered by: mwirth
The weight is 266 grams for the 44cm. Thanks!
asked by: cppp59
What are the drawbacks of a 25.4 compared to 31.8 handlebar? Is 31.8 more comfortable?
answered by: mwirth
31.8mm handlebars just tend to be a tiny bit stiffer and flex a little less than a 25.4. It is not really too much of a comfort issue. Thanks!
asked by: A Visitor
That double set of grooves will affect the feel, how can I alleviate this?
answered by: mwirth
I would recommend double wrapping the bars to make the grooves less of an issue. Thanks!
asked by: A Visitor
what width does it come in? I am looking for 44 or 46 cm
answered by: mwirth
It is available in a 44 but not a 46. Thanks!
asked by: A Visitor
can this go on a fixed gear bike?
answered by: cbuijk
As long as the clamp diameter matches the bar, it should work fine.
asked by: A Visitor
are these measured c-c or to the outer edges?
answered by: cmcmann
center to center.
asked by: A Visitor
Would a 26mm bar fit into a 25.4 stem clamp? Thanks.
answered by: jrichard
No, the diameter is too great and would not properly clamp. You would need to replace your stem.
asked by: A Visitor
Would these be called a compact bend or a standard curve drop?
answered by: awilson
Standard. If it were compact it would state it in the description.

These are great ergo bars for someone who is unfamiliar with the new bar style!
asked by: A Visitor
Can bar end shifters be used with these bars?
answered by: smulder
Absolutely. Just insert them into the end of the bar and tighten to the proper spec.

Review of the Dimension Road Double Groove Drop Bar 25.4:
One of the first upgrades I did on my 1984 Peugeot PH10 was to get some wider bars. These fit the bill, and the ergonomic design of them make cycling through town or for exercise MUCH more comfortable. The bars helped open up my chest and give me more comfortable grip positions overall. I had some trouble getting them through the closed handlebar clamp, but a little finagling and some sweat made it happen. Definitely recommend this product!

Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.

Review of the Dimension Road Double Groove Drop Bar 25.4:
I can't really say I have too much to compare it to but I'm pretty pleased with these bars. My bike was previously owned and set up with MTB bars and aero bars, so I wanted to go with a standard road setup. These fit the bill, as I did not want to spend too much. I only single wrapped the bars and I don't notice the cables in the grooves at all, I know that seems to be a concern for some people. For the price, I really have nothing but good things to say.

Summed up: Nice entry level bars

Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.
