bluewarblerThis rack looks great and was easy to mount (once we located directions, which were available online but not included). It seems to be holding up well for regular commuting, even in rainy weather.

bitterchanFirst off, I'd consider this a mid level rack. The Axiom is not some sub $20 El-cheapo, nor is it going to replace your Tubus or Nitto. That said, the build quality is very nice with clean welds, nice even black finish, and sturdy tubular aluminum throughout.
The profile features a narrow top deck, which keeps your loaded panniers closer to the centerline of the bike. Looks slick, and gives you a little extra space when negotiating traffic or walking it through a crowd or a doorway. The downside is most trunk bags probably will not fit.
Mounting took a couple tries to optimize the placement of the stay arms. Once tightened down they provide a sturdy attachment point. Much nicer than the typical bent steel mounts that are so common.
This rack has been great for commuting with panniers. If you are planning a fully loaded tour, I'd spend some more $$$ and get something stronger with room for a trunk bag.

eboothThis is a good deal for the price, but there are few disappointments.
I wish the specifications page had the width of this rack detailed. This rack was too thin to properly support my rack bag and the mounting bars are not wide enough to reach the bolt holes on the frame of my Trek 4300 MTB. I had to bend the bottom arms of the rack to get it to fit, but I doubt this will bode well for the long-term strength of the metal arms that support the rack.

1jedimotoI originally bought this rack for my commuter, but after only a week or so of using it, I bought another one for my girlfriend. To say I love it is an understatement. It is very sturdy and all three of the sets of panniers I own fit perfectly on the rack. No sagging or wrapping around on this rack. It's nice to not have to work about how I pack everything now, as with this rack no part of the pannier has a chance to bend back into the wheel.
And I love the profile. Narrower and sexier in my opinion. And it's definitely more stable and flexes less than the Blackburn rack I had before this one. You can really load this sucker down.

JclearyFit this rack on the back of my 2010 Specialized Allez. The spacing at the bottom was narrower than my bottom bracket (9 spd hub 130mm?)so much that I had to bend and stretch the rack to get it to fit. As Ebooth says, I don't expect this to affect the durability of the rack, just a minor inconvenience. I love that the mounting system doesn't require you to bend the upper supports to fit your bike. This way, if you decide to move it to a new bike or resell, it is completely intact for remounting. I load it up with two changes of clothes including steel toed boots and tools for my 20 mile round trip commute to work...seems to be holding up just great. Love the narrow looks of it and I personally believe the narrow profile helps the balance as sometimes I only carry one pannier with as much as 8lbs on one side and I barely notice the weight being off center while riding.

A GuestSeems nice. Relatively light and looks good. I used only one of the mounting arms and connected it to a seatpost clamp that I also bought here. It is kinda trick. My panier fits well way on the back to avoid contact from my heel. I mounted it to a 2012 Scott S30 road bike that had no rack eyelets on the upper seat stays.

A GuestGood, durable rack. Adjustable to keep panniers far enought back that you don't run into them whiloe pedaling. Would definately buy again - although I'm thinking this won't need replacing in my lifetime.
Good price and fast shipping from tree fort.

thskadowNice well made mid level rack. And no a trunk does not fit on it nor is it supposed to. That being said it would be nice if Axiom made a narrow trunk that would fit on it. This rack keeps your panniers closer to the center line of the bike providing more stability under a load. Plus you gotta love the look, very sleek.

andypampGreat rack. Set it up on my girlfriends bike and it works wonderfully for her. She uses it for groceries, shopping and bringing her books to work (she is a school teacher).

A GuestI have had the axiom DLX road (old version, same width as this one, not like the new one) and have loved it for around town. I am ordering this one because I have actually gotten to where the road version with the brake bridge mount isn't stiff enough with the 4cm setback- Im going to use this one without the setback, and with a set of p-mounts to my seatstays. My old one is over 3 years old and has taken way too much abuse, but other than a few scratches here and there, its been wonderful. I will be sticking with axiom for their bang for the buck racks. I paid full list for my old rack a few years back and don't regret it at all.
