The caliper buckle is shown in the main image. It is the part with the red plastic tab. The Genius does not use the wire retention system that the Ergo uses.

bmanionI also purchased Shimano pd 7900 carbon pedals along with Sidi Genius 5 pro carbon to compete in next weeks New York City Gran Fondo. On my 40 mile training rides the shoes, new cleats and pedals made noticable difference in my hill workouts. Saved grams on the pedals, shoes weighed in about the same as my Shimanos, but Sidi fit my foot better which is noticable on climbs. This is a long-term investment for me as I take on longer distances. Very comfortable combination.

A GuestWhy pay almost $200 for hand-made Italian riding shoes? Because they fit like a glove and they are just as comfortable after your first few rides as your 1000th! The ratchet system ensures a snug fit, though I was a bit surprised that I prefer it on it's smallest setting when wearing thin cycling socks, which is fine, since I don't expect my foot to get smaller! I'm a 10.5 and bought 45's, though I suspect I could have gotten away with 44.5. Who knew?

herbgraySecond pair of Sidis-first pair have nearly 15,000 miles on them. Wouldn't wear anything else.

A GuestThis is my second pair of Sidi. My previous pair have lasted 6 years of constant use and some abuse. Although I've replaced them with the Genius 5 pro, the old ones still have years of life left. I went with a half size larger this time around and the fit is perfect. Shoes are an investment in ride quality for sure.

A GuestI'm not a roadie. I'm just a MTB guy that likes to ride roads at times. This is my first ever dedicated road shoe so take my comments with that grain of salt thing...
These shoes fit me great and when combined with the Look Keo Cleats and pedals really changed the whole pedaling dynamic. The shoe's sole is very stiff which for me has helped in getting more power to the pedal. The build quality is excellent, It'd be hard to find better and the design and attention to detail is unmatched - I use Sidi motorcycle boots and experience the same feeling.
