asked by: a guest what is the difference between this product and Product ID: 333222394569? thanks
A.
anwered by: jbuzzy This is the V Type and the Other is the V Type 2.
These pads, V Type, have a flat squeegee on the back where the V2's have a rigid squeegee on the rear
From the Kool Stop website: "Our New V-Type 2 insert just got heavier with 1.5mm more pad material than our original V-Type insert and still fits most all Shimano Style V-Brake holders."

asked by: a guest will these pads fit Shimano BR-R550 brakes
A.
anwered by: a guest I have a set of stock BR-R550's and the V-Type 2 pads fit perfectly. The supplied pins were hard to make work correctly, so I reused the stock Shimano pins.

Replaced stock Trek FX 7.3 pads with these Salmon pads and cartridges. The original pads were shredding aluminum off my rims and making a hell of a racket. These have been on for 1500 miles now and are still quiet (unless the trail is really dusty) and firm stopping. Some people comment they work better in the rain, but I can't tell as I stay indoors in the wet myself.
Run these on my commuter/ cyclocross /road bike. Tekro 720 cantilevers. The stock hard black pads were getting shards of aluminum embedded in them. They work great. They do require a lot of toe in on cantis or they will be noisy. I ride these in rain, mud, dust etc... I do clean my rim sidewalls frequently, to remove any buildup. Have also had these on for 50 mph descents with no problems.
