Review of the Power Grips Pedal Straps:
When I was younger and poorer - commuting the sidewalks and streets of the University during the week, and touring the county roads and trails on the weekends, I had power grips on my bike. I didn't know any better, just that they were inexpensive and looked easier to get out of than a toe cage!
Well, when I got some money, I bought a more expensive bike with more respectable cages on them. They were hard to get into and even harder to get out of!!
Finally, on my most recent bike purchase (and most expensive), I went all out and splurged for the clip pedals and shoes. What misery....admittedly, I'm a not a serious cyclist, I don't compete. What I do do is enjoy riding 6 days a week. I could never adjust the clip/shoes properly so that I didn't have excruciating knee/ankle pain when i finished with a ride.
I finally got frustrated and googled "power-grips" (I had been told by several bike shops that they had been discontinued - as they were a passing gimmick). I was pleased to find that they were still available and still affordable.
I put them on my bike - and my knees/ankles rejoiced! They just fit me. And...as the info says, you can wear most any type of shoe, so long as your can adjust the length of the straps on your pedals. I have found them the easiest to get into/out of, of any clip/cage strap. AND...the latest versions are much easier to adjust!
May not look cool, you might get some ribbing for them, but your knees will love you for it.
