The S-3 The S-8 headset is an updated design of our S-6 headset, featuring replaceable bearings and a lighter, more compact profile. In addition to its sealed stainless steel cartridge bearings, the S-8's overhanging cup/cover design keeps contaminants from reaching the bearings. This overhanging "treacherous path" feature is repeated with the lower cup/crown race. All Cane Creek headsets, including the S-8, feature design details such as an undercut transition and stepped insertion for ease of assembly into frames; and are compatible with Cane Creek Interlok spacers. Classic: fits in a traditionally designed head tube and utilizes external bearing cups.

Great headset for the price. Installed it on my RedLine Monocog Flight SS. Time will tell if it holds up but so far so good.

This is a very light, attractive, well-crafted headset - yes, I know all about Chris King, and have owned three. The S-8 presents a great value. It also includes a four-piece (20mm total) proprietary interlocking spacer stack, not noted in the description. The star nut assembly first rate, and includes a stainless steel bolt. The stainless bearing assembly top quality. I exchanged an FSA MX for the CC S-8, and I couldn't be happier. The S-8 won't break your budget, but will provide a very high-quality frame-to-fork connection. It is affordable sealed bearing at its best.
