Ergon GP1 Ergo Grip Large

The Ergon GP1 grip sports a wide, ergonomic shape to accommodate more of your hand. The supportive shape helps reduce numbness and fatigue during long or bumpy rides. The alloy clamp helps secure the grip to the handlebar, no more messy glues or sprays to deal with.

questions about the

Ergon GP1 Ergo Grip Large

asked by: A Visitor
How many mm long are the GripShift length grips?
answered by: canteau
Grip shift grips are 95mm long
asked by: sshteingart
are the twist shift - 1 long - 1 short?
answered by: canteau
The left and the right grips are both short. If you only have 1 twist shifter, such as on a 7-speed you would need to buy a set of standard and short grips.
asked by: A Visitor
Hi, do they clamp on cinelli pepper riser bar?
answered by: smulder
I can't guarantee this will fit since we don't have that bar here right now. It is built to mount on the traditional 22.2mm mountain bar diameter, so fits most bars. The only other concern is the length of the actual grip mounting area, but I've seen those bars with a standard Oury Grip so this should work just fine like them.
asked by: A Visitor
Hi could you tell me the difference between the standard and the twist shifter, thanks.
answered by: mcacciapalle
The difference between the standard and the twist shifter is that the standard are longer. The twist shifter grips are shortened to accommodate actual twist shifters. Thanks!
asked by: mrivera238
Read GP1 will not clamp on some bars. Any issues with an Easton EA30 XC aluminum flat bar?
answered by: abarnosky
I can't guarantee this will fit, but based on our previous installation on other Easton bars (not the EA30 specifically) they mounted without problem. It is built to mount on the traditional 22.2mm mountain bar diameter, so fits most bars.

Review of the Ergon GP1 Ergo Grip Large:
They really do work, my Rockhopper was actually painful on gravel roads until I tried these grips. Now I have these on three other bikes. Actually beginning to prefer straight bars to drops now with these grips for the touring bikes too.

Summed up: They take out the sting.

Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.

Review of the Ergon GP1 Ergo Grip Large:
I recently started commuting round trip (20 miles) to work each day on my bike. I began to notice that my hands hurt a little with the stock grips that came on the bike. A friend recommended these Ergon grips & I tried them. TOTALLY WORTH IT! I LOVE THEM! They are very comfortable and displace the force of your weight over more of your palm. I recommend these to anyone who's serious about biking period.

Summed up: BUY THEM! You won't be sorry.

Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.

Review of the Ergon GP1 Ergo Grip Large:
I've been cycling avidly for the last 16 years.
My hands would always start fatiguing after 30km or so. That's no longer a problem after installing these. I put a set on all of my straight bar bikes. If you are a larger cyclist and have issues with hand numbness or fatigue, I truly believe that you will be quite satisfied with a pair of these grips.

Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.

Review of the Ergon GP1 Ergo Grip Large:
These grips make it much more comfortable to ride and my hands don't get numb as much as before. Slight downside - they are not very long. If you have a largish hand, it's a tight squeeze. I got the shorter version so that I wouldn't have to move the brake/shifter bracket. Another downside - plugs don't fit in my bars. I don't know if I'm supposed to trim them or not.

Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.

Love, Love, Love these grips...just put them a refurbished 84 Schwinn Traveler with new flat bars. Absolutely most comfortable. Rode 80 miles on these with out any discomfort. The price on this site is absolutely the best I found. Buy these and be happy.

Review of the Ergon GP1 Ergo Grip Large:
Great pair of grips. I purchased two sets of these and the second set would not tighten down at all. I tried to tighten these, put in soapy water to get to adhere to bars, but no luck. I will not spend this amount on these grips again. I will use some other type that are similar, cheaper, and stay in one position. Good product but needs some more research and/or attention to quality.

Review of the Ergon GP1 Ergo Grip Large:
Already have used for a couple years on another bike. Physiology makes sense and allows better griping in rough conditions with more comfort. Experiment with proper angle as makes a big difference to get it right for most common riding position.

Review of the Ergon GP1 Ergo Grip Large:
My stock grips gave me alot of vibration issues causing my hands to go numb, buying a pair of gel paded gloves did help but combining the gloves and the Ergo Grips I have very little problems now with my hands going numb!

Summed up: No more numbness and discomfort and I'm enjoying the longer distance rides now! A great product!

Review of the Ergon GP1 Ergo Grip Large:
Very comfortable grips! A little bit of hassle to install, because they clamp only at the outer edge, so I had to move the shifters and brakes in a bit on the handlebars to accommodate, but well worth the effort.

Summed up: Very comfortable!

Review of the Ergon GP1 Ergo Grip Large:
Best thing to ever happen to my hands. I suffer from long term numbness and loss of finger strength when riding a MTB. It has always forced me to ride with a poor grip on the bars to avoid the issue, which is dangerous during technical rides. This grip has 100% fixed the problem, and I can go all day without the least bit of trouble.

Review of the Ergon GP1 Ergo Grip Large:
The grips did not secure tightly to my handlebars. No matter how hard you tightened the allen screws, the grips would never secure in place. Their position is of obvious importance because of the shape of the grips and their purpose. I'm not sure why these would not secure tightly onto my handlebars, but the recommended 5 nM tightening pressure was not enough.
