trailmakerI have had nothing but Time pedals (Carbon, Alium, & ATAC Z) on all of my bikes, so I may not be unbiased or representative. They work very well. A lot of people think that you have to be a big'un to get out of these, as Time pedals have a very stiff spring release with no adjustment. I don't buy it. Once you get used to them, you find that not only can you get out of them instantly, but they allow you a TON of float and twist before you clip out. This is not to be discounted when the going gets rough and you get a little out of shape. The last thing you want then is weak spring retention. You can count on them. The only "bad" thing I can say is that after 4 years of hard mountain use, bashing off rocks, roots, and crashing, I broke one, ironically when the bike fell over on a cement floor just standing by itself. I miss them, as being able to get your foot on something spacious and get up to speed on tricky terrain before worrying about clipping in is a huge benefit. While my other two sets are still going strong, they are far more difficult to stay on when you are in a pinch, and I suffer far more aborted start-ups than with the Z's. I've just got to another pair of these!

stew9812Overall five stars now that im used to them. I can clip in an out easy, and in those situations where you need to clip out quick they seem to work well for that. Looking back I might have chosen a lighter more expensive pedal but im very happy with time pedals.
