028956blhMy first couple of bikes in 2005 came with Shimano chains. I replaced them with SRAM PC971 and PC991 and have never looked back. Both are great chains: durable and strong. The PC971 is definitely a best value. Never had chain snap. Powerlink is great for me since I remove the chain to clean it. I also use the PC971 on my commuter bike (Surly LHT) with excellent results

abarnoskyThis is my go to chain. In my experience it lasts just about as long as the more expensive chains, and is durable enough for me. I use the PC-971 on my commuter, 29er, and road bikes without issue. Might not be as light as the other options, and may not be as durable for people who mash and break everything they own, but it works for me! No problems, highly recommended.

bik...@ya...o.comStarted using the SRAM chains when I was back in Chicago area with sponsored club. Liked them so much that I've kept using them after I moved to Houston area.

bbrutschBased on my real world, non scientific, experience this chain wears longer than comparable shimano chains. The power link is handy, I've never had a chain snap, and and it's priced right. What more can you ask from a chain.

anonymousI purchased this chain for a single speed MTB. I've used the SRAM 8 and 9 speed chains for about 25 years without any issues or breakage and I feel the durability is excellent. I do run 1x drivetrains with a steel cogs which gives excellent durability for not much added weight. At this point, I see no reason to use anything else!
